Movie Research : Murder Mystery

Image
Hello blog !!  What conventions of the genre that you choose to base your final task on does this movie have? This movie uses conventions like creating a tense environment before someone gets killed. It also leaves a bunch of clues for the main character to follow before finally solving the murder. Camera angles, movements and shots that I'm noticing are tracking shots, closeups, two shots, and over the shoulder shots. There is a lot of dialogue and diegetic sound. I also see a use of darker lighting. The reveal of the murder weapon was shocking and surprising as well.  What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked? I liked the tracking shots and close-ups. I also liked the use of dark lighting because it helps make things suspenseful. I like the diegetic sound because it can be so many things like screams or sirens or banging. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task? I di

Hello blog !!!    The first convention in the beginning of the movie I would include in are final project would be a zoom shot which transitioned to a pan. Another convention I would is a long shot. Around the first 10 minutes of the movie it was a low angle I would think about adding. A convention I enjoyed watching was a close up shot on a bike tire. Following this was a establishing/aerial shot showing a car parking into a house. The scene where the father is trapped in the closet the dialogue is very suspenseful. I don't like the excessive use of medium close ups. I did not really enjoy watching the extreme close ups. The two shot I don't like the way there dressed.

Pitch Blog: Get to Thinking

Good morning blog. I hope you all have had an amazing week so far.  Pitch A:  A person is going shopping for Christmas but, doesn't realize someone is following them the whole time.  Pitch B: Girl has an online boyfriend that she's never seen and he unexpectedly wants to meet up one night.  Discuss Pitch A: As a group we thought of this because we wanted to do something that had to do with Christmas but, a down side is that it only has two characters which wouldn't be as fun.  Discuss Pitch B: With this one we realized that we wouldn't have to drive to any location. The only downside is that we would have to get everyone in the video in one place at a time that is good for everyone. Final Decision: Since we don't want it to be too horror, we decided to go with Pitch B: A girl has an online boyfriend that she's never seen and he unexpectedly wants to meet up one night.

Group Blog : We’re back

Hey Blog. I’m happy we get to talk back to back days. How is your day going ? How are you feeling ? I am getting a little sick. My throat , head , and stomach has been hurting and it hasn’t been the best. But , hopefully it goes away soon. I am so excited for the first group project. It gives me an opportunity to use my creative side and some ideas I have. My group member is Jahziah and Kester. Jahziah and I are in my same class period so it will be easier to work with her on this project and we decided to let Kester join our group. All of us will have the class time to talk and make sure everything is turned in on time. I like to have all my assignments turned in all time because it shows how responsible I am. I chose to work with Jahziah because she has a Youtube channel so I know she is familiar with making videos , editing them , and having creative ideas. Jahziah, Kester, and I work very well together. The music video Jahziah and I made not too long ago turned out so good. I bel

Hey Blog.  I’m backkk. I am really excited for this project. I get to make an opening sequence of an original movie. I kind of want to talk about how I have been feeling lately. I am tired honestly. Sometimes I feel like everyday is a repeating cycle. One thing to remember is never tell people your business. It’s always good to open up to people you trust. Key word , trust. It is really annoying hearing the stuff you’re going through be spoken around school. You just want your business to be between certain people. Why do outsiders think it’s nice to let insiders know their opinions on the problem? It’s hard to open up too sometimes because you don’t want people to feel bad for you. But , in life you go through ups and downs and only the strong people survive. I just hope that people who are going through things alone find help and don’t feel like they need to suffer alone. Anywho , I had an amazing Sweet 16. I hope you enjoy the ideas I will be telling you all for the opening sequen
